About Pulse

Who We Are

Pulse is a Christian ministry dedicated to helping college students find their place on campus, in life, and in the family of God. We are a Registered Student Organization at UCA.

Pulse began in the Fall of 2017 with a handful of students who dreamed of creating a ministry centered on family, service, and connection to a local spiritual community. The picture above is from our first gathering in Sept. '17.

At Pulse our beliefs are our foundation. It's safe to say that our beliefs guide everything we do. Though by no means an exhaustive list, below you'll find some beliefs that are especially important to us.

Our Beliefs

Jesus

The Bible teaches that Jesus is the best way for us to know and experience God (Col. 1:15). When God desired to bridge the gap between himself and humanity, he became Jesus.

A Christian is simply this: someone who has committed to follow Jesus. Those who follow Jesus are forgiven of their failures, and can step freely into a life of healing, transformation, and hope.

We want to do everything we can to help people discover the transforming power of a relationship with Jesus.

The best part? It's completely free. No matter where you've been or what you've done, you can follow Jesus.

Community

Community is vital to life. The most significant factor in your success in college will be your ability to form meaningful relationships with others.

Relationships matter. No one wants to walk through life alone.
The best things in life are shared with others.

The Bible describes the early church as a vibrant, caring, spiritual community (Acts 2:42-47). We want Pulse to be a community like this.

More importantly, we want to help you find a community like this.

Purpose

We were made to live for more than ourselves. We were made to love, give, and serve.

Jesus was first and foremost a servant (Matt. 20:28). He came to bring truth, liberation, and justice, and nowhere in his life is this more evident than in his care for the poor and downtrodden.

Jesus also came to announce "the good news of the kingdom of God" (Luke 4:43). He invited people to trust him and follow him, and he sent his disciples into the world with the same purpose (Matt. 20:28).

We want to help you live with the same sense of purpose and drive that characterized Jesus.
